Eighth-grader Rohan Kanchana was recently named Delaware’s winner in the Congressional App Challenge sponsored by the Congressional Internet Caucus and the Internet Education Foundation. The Challenge encourages students around the country to learn coding. More than 2,150 students, including 17 students in Delaware, participated in the contest.
Rohan turned his passion for geography into his award-winning app called “Geography” which allows users to learn more about the countries of the world. “The knowledge I gained inspired me to create an app that would help people learn the geography facts needed for everyday life,” Rohan said. The Congressional App Challenge winning apps are featured in the Capitol as well as on the www.House.Gov websites. Rohan will also be invited to a reception in Washington to meet other Congressional App Challenge winners.
