Newark Charter School offers programs and activities to match every student interest. We offer a full array of athletic teams in the junior high school and high school. These include 22 varsity sports, 10 JV sports and a handful of freshman teams. We offer Unified Sports in Football, Track, Basketball & Bowling. The Middle School Program offers 15 sports. Newark Charter School is a member of the DIAA Conference and competes in the Diamond State Conference with Archmere Academy, Conrad, Delaware Military Academy and Wilmington Christian.
In 2016, Newark Charter School was named a recipient of the DIAA Sportsmanship Award in our first year of participation.
2015 Diamond State Conference Championship for Boys Cross Country, the first athletic championship ever at NCS.
Alec Menzer, Class of 2018, won Newark Charter’s first State Championship, winning the 200 yard freestyle.
Girls Volleyball & Girls Soccer qualified for the 2015-2016 DIAA State Playoff Championships.
2015-2016 Girls Field Hockey, Girls Volleyball, Girls Basketball & Boys Lacrosse earned the Diamond State Conference Team Sportsmanship Awards.
The average GPA for student athletes in 2015-2016 was 3.9!
The NCS Athletic Boosters meets on a monthly basis and is comprised of NCS parents, coaches and administrators. The purpose of the Athletic Boosters is to provide fundraising support to all athletic teams throughout the year.
