2017-2018 General Update(s)

In May of 2017, Newark Charter High School graduated its first class of seniors.  NCS first opened its middle school in 2001, followed by the elementary school in 2007, and lastly the high school in 2013. AP Capstone Diploma – The first high school in DE with full implementation of the AP Capstone Diploma program.
Jefferson Service Awards Students in Action – Delaware’s Outstanding Service High School Winner, 2016.
#2 National Winner – Video Game Design – Newark Charter’s first trip to the TSA National Competition, 2016.
#3 National Winner – Essays on Technology – Newark Charter’s first trip to the TSA National Competition, 2016.
Top 10 National Finalist – On-Demand Video – Newark Charter’s first trip to the TSA National Competition, 2016.
National History Day – 11 Students qualified for Nationals, 2016.
FFA (Biotechnology) – 12 National Finalists, 2016.

2nd Highest Sophomore PSAT Avg in Delaware – 1st ever sophomore class, 2014
2nd Highest Junior PSAT Avg in Delaware – 1st ever junior class, 2015
2nd Highest School-day SAT Avg in Delaware – 1st ever junior class, 2016
2016 Delaware Bio Educator of the Year for grades K-12 – Teacher, Melanie Mundell, 2016.
