Building the Future Capital Campaign

Robert W. Gore Stadium Dedication

Newark Charter School dedicated the Robert W. Gore Stadium on September 8th with events for the entire school community as well as hosting the first Field Hockey game under the lights!

Scott and Larisa Gore, current parents and loyal supporters of Newark Charter School, have generously contributed to the Building the Future Capital Campaign and chose to name the stadium in honor of Scott Gore’s late father, Robert W. Gore.

Mr. Robert Gore, W.L. Gore & Associates, Inc. president and inventor of Gore-Tex was the grandfather of NCS students Ulyanna, Class of 2017; Genevieve, Class of 2021; Ksenia and Thaddeus, both Class of 2024.

Additionally, the Gore family has named the six-lane track at the stadium the Coach Sinko Track in recognition of longtime cross country, track and field head coach Steve Sinko. Coach Sinko has been coaching at Newark Charter since 2013 when the high school opened. Honoring him is a testament to his commitment and dedication to hundreds of student-athletes.

Tim and Kelly Boulden have generously supported the Capital Campaign by naming the turf field at the stadium Boulden Brothers Field. The Boulden family founded Boulden Brothers Coal in Newark, Delaware in 1946.  Tim Boulden is a founding member of Newark Charter School and the family continues to remain involved with Kelly Boulden recently serving on the Board of Directors and currently co-chairs the Capital Campaign Committee.

Newark Charter School is forever grateful to the Gore and Boulden families for their commitment to ensuring a high quality, multi-functional space that will be enjoyed by all Patriots!

Newark Charter School was founded by families and teachers who stood shoulder to shoulder to open a middle school in trailers in 2001. It is now our turn to keep that same spirit alive by supporting this Capital Campaign! Your support of the Building the Future Capital Campaign will provide opportunities and enhanced facilities honoring 20 years of excellence in academics and decorum while guiding the next generation of Patriots!
