The Meaning of Our Logo
The Newark Charter School logo symbolizes our aspirations for our children and their school. The left branch of the symbol, the flame, stands for knowledge. The right branch, the leaf, stands for the intellectual, social, ethical and physical growth of our students. The center symbol, the diamond, stands for our uniqueness in Delaware (The Diamond State) and the quality of our programs and people.
The Story Behind Our Mascot
One week after Newark Charter School opened its doors, we experienced the national tragedy of terrorist attacks in our country. In the days and months following 9-11, we experienced incredible patriotism throughout our nation and in our community. It is fitting, therefore, that the students of the Newark Charter School selected “The Patriots” as the school’s mascot.
