Intermediate School Final Steps to Prepare for 9/8

Newark Charter School is closed on Friday and Monday for Labor Day and school officially starts on Tuesday. That makes today the last official day of the 2020 Summer Vacation! Although we would much rather see your children walk into the building on Tuesday, we are still very excited to see them in our virtual classrooms.

7th Grade Virtual Orientation

We enjoyed meeting you at the student material pick up day and look forward to getting to know you better at the Jr./Sr. high campus. Traditionally, we would gather this evening at an orientation session in the cafetorium to support you with your transition to the 7th grade. When we are able to return to campus for in-person learning we will provide the opportunity for an in-person orientation. Meanwhile, we have prepared this video to welcome you and ensure you are prepared and ready to start class virtually on Tuesday, September 8th at 9am.

Jr / Sr High School Remote Learning Expectations

We know you have a lot of questions and concerns surrounding the remote start of school this year, and we appreciate your patience in allowing us time to prepare. Administrators and teachers have spent a lot of time this summer working toward solutions and are excited to be able to offer you some additional details regarding remote learning plans and policies. If we continue remote learning beyond the four weeks currently announced, we will continuously re-evaluate these guidelines—reflecting, evaluating, and possibly updating them as we go.

Intermediate School Schedule Information

This past week with the return of our amazing staff, a great deal of progress has been made towards being ready for our first day of instruction. As an administrator, and as a parent, I feel incredibly fortunate to have such committed and talented people working with our children.

As a staff, we are also fortunate to have you, the families of our students, as our partners. As partners, we have received questions that continue to guide our work of preparing to educate in a remote setting.
