Patriot Profiles - Terri Danberg

“I began teaching both Art and French at Newark Charter School in 2002, when the school consisted of two trailer units pulled onto a field across from the Newark Day Nursery.  I then taught Art and French to 5th thru 8th grade students at our new Middle School. It was an exciting time. As the school continued to grow, I moved into teaching Art full time in the Primary School.”

Mrs. Danberg shared that some of her favorite memories are “those involving my interactions with my students. I will always remember certain moments that were so joyful in the classroom. I love when students come back years later and are so excited to see me!” One of Mrs. Danberg’s favorite events is the annual Art Show – a culmination of work displayed by artists in grades K-12. The event will be held this spring on Tuesday, April 4th in the Senior High School.

Mrs. Danberg reflects that, "Newark Charter School has helped me to accomplish a means of passing the love of art and culture to many young people. I hope that I have been a source of inspiration and caring for each student and that my students have realized the importance of kindness and the joy of creating.”

At the end of this academic year, Mrs. Danberg will retire from Newark Charter School. We are so very lucky to have had her be part of our school community for so long. Happy Retirement, Mrs. Danberg!
